Annual Senior Resource Fair

CISC's 2010 Annual Senior Resource Fair will be held on Thursday, October 14th at the North Bellevue Community Center. There will be many organizations attending that specialize in assisting and providing resources for seniors, and this is a great chance to agencies and seniors to meet and greet. Open House

CISC recently had an open house to celebrate the new office space for the Eastside Cultural Navigator Program at the Family Recourse Center in Redmond. Thanks to new funding from the Seattle Foundation, there will now be more Spanish and Russian Cultural Navigators at CISC.

And what better way to celebrate this expanded cultural assistance than through food! The 60 or so community leaders who attended were treated to Russian piroshky, Indian samosas, Chinese egg tarts, and tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole.

Computer Donation

A big THANK YOU to the City of Kirkland for donating their retired computers to CISC!

9 desktops to replace obsolete machines in our main offices, and 2 laptops for our new Eastside Cultural Navigator Program space at the Family Resource Center in Redmond.

And don't forget, today is the grand opening of our space at the Family Resource Center. 3:00-4:30 pm, 16225 NE 87th St, Ste A7 in Redmond. See you there!

Fan Dance Tai Chi - correction

Oops! The clip of the fan dancers posted 8/20 was not at North Bellevue, but a program of Sunshine Garden, in conjunction with the ID/Chinatown Community Center.

Check out the new EastsideHelps website. The Eastside Human Services Forum, of which CISC is a part, built upon an idea that started in Kirkland to put all this information into one easy to use place.

The Seattle Times calls it "a clear, simple way to find help, or to give it."

Seniors @ Crossroads Mall

This Saturday, the 12th annual volunteer fair was held at Crossroads Mall in Bellevue. Hundreds of community members interested in learning about volunteer opportunities attended.

There was lots of entertainment, including CISC's Eastside Chinese Senior Choir. Very professional looking, and they sounded great too!




The group practices every Wednesday from 10:30 to noon at the North Bellevue Community Center. New members are always welcome to join!
